It Started With Extra Produce
Blooming Valley Farms started with a garden that got out of hand. Tia Sue was in nursing school with more produce than one household could eat, so she started sharing it with neighbors. The sharing kept growing, and eventually so did the farm.
Nursing is what shaped how we grow. Tia Sue cared for patients who had to be careful about everything they ate — people for whom food was never a small decision. That stayed with her. Feeding our neighbors well is the reason this farm exists, and it is still how we decide what to plant.
How We Grow
We are not certified organic. What we are is careful. We grow with nature the way it was intended, using only natural inputs and companion planting, and we keep pesticides and herbicides off our ground entirely.
We grow most of what we sell ourselves. For the rest, we partner with local farms that share our values — and when a neighbor's crop was grown differently than ours, we would rather tell you than let you assume.

Only Natural Inputs
Everything we feed the soil and the plants is natural. We build fertility over the years instead of buying it by the jug.
Companion Planting
We set partner crops beside each other so the plants look after one another, turning pests away and drawing in the insects we do want.
Pesticide & Herbicide Free
Nothing we grow gets sprayed. Weeds are pulled, cultivated, or shaded out under landscape fabric instead.
